contributions. The contributions were made to the Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club Say No/Say Yes Campaign and the Patron’s Community Programme.
Chief Executive Officer of Trans Pacific Auto Sales, Mr. Ramsaywack donated a cartoon of trophies valued $50,000 (fifty thousand dollars) towards the Say No/Say Yes Campaign, which targets 60,000 youths in Berbice to get them to Say No to Drugs, Suicide, Crime, Alcohol and Yes to Education, Life, Sports and Religion. The trophies would be used to host educational and sporting events for youths in Berbice.
Mr. Mahadeo Panchu of KSM Investment handed over 52 coloured Polo T/Shirts valued $120,000 (one hundred and twenty thousand dollars) towards hosting of the Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club’s Patron Green Economy Softball Tournament. The tournament which would involve 16 (sixteen) teams is scheduled to bowl off this weekend once the weather permits. The four sets of Polo T/Shirts would be used to uniform the semifinalists of the tournament. The winner of the tournament would receive $500,000 (five hundred thousand dollars), while the total prize package would be in excess of $1M.
Mr. Bissoondyal Singh and Family of Bissan’s Trading contributed $60,000 (sixty thousand dollars) worth of cricket balls, while Apex Insurance, Claude Raphael of Raphael Real Estate, Ronald Williams and Survival Supermarket donated a combined $100,000 (one hundred thousand dollars). All of the financial donations would be used to purchase cricket balls to assist less fortunate clubs across Berbice.
The Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club, Secretary/CEO Hilbert Foster is very pleased to receive the donation as it would enable the club to fulfill its mandate of making a positive difference. He expressed gratitude to all of the donors especially Mr. Ramsaywack, Bissoondyal Singh, Mahadeo Panchu, Ronald Williams, Claude Raphael and C. Arjune for their assistance. The donation of cricket balls would be handed over to clubs on Friday during a ceremony at the St. Francis Community Developers Training Centre.
Foster noted that while the Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club is proud of its highly impressive record on the cricket field, it was concerned about the ability of other clubs to fulfill their mandates to youths. The donation of cricket balls is the third such assistance to clubs in 2017 and would carry the total of over $1M worth of balls.
