Guyana’s representative team for the 2017 Flow CARIFTA Games departed yesterday afternoon for Curacao, where they will compete against the Caribbean’s best youth and junior athletes over this weekend with the hope of climbing the podium.
The contingent assembled at the National Gymnasium just before travelling to the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA) for departure.
The team included:
Under 18 Girls: Kenisha Phillips (100m, 200m); Claudrice McCoy (1500m); Chantona Bright (High, Long, Triple Jump); Onasha Rogers (100m); Tremaine Browne (Long, Triple Jump).
Under-20 Girl: Natricia Hooper (Triple Jump, 400m).
Under-18 Boys: Daniel Williams (200m, High Jump) and Tarique Boyle (High Jump).
Under-20 Boys: Compton Ceasar (200m); Anfernee Headecker (800m, 1500m); Samuel Lynch (800m); Matthew McKenzie (5000m).
Johnny Gravesande (Upper Demerara) and Moses Pantlitz (CWSS) were named as the Coaches, while Yvonne October was named as Team Manager.
