Sixteen-year-old Atalya Lawrence is now the most recent addition to a decade long list
of proud recipients of the celebrated Annie Daniels Memorial Scholarship Award.
This Noble Street, Friendship, East Coast Demerara resident is a graduate of President’s College. She attained the illustrious award for her outstanding performance of 11 subjects at the 2016 Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC).
A cheque for $210,000 was presented to Lawrence towards her first-year tuition fee at the University of Guyana, where she is majoring in Accountancy.
Established in 2007 by Dr. Kerwin Charles, in honour of his late grandmother, the Annie Daniels Memorial Scholarship seeks to reward academic excellence while offering financial assistance to help students from Buxton to pursue their educational goals.
Dr. Charles is the son of Mr. Reuben “Clayton” Charles and Mrs. Paulette Charles.
