Tenelec Inc. of Washington USA has once again renewed its sponsorship with the Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) by sponsoring their two innings Under-15 and First division 50-over round-robin competitions.

Speaking at the launching ceremony which took place recently at Albion Estate, President of the BCB Anil Beharry expressed gratitude to Bobby Deonarine and Tom Gruntzel of Tenelec Inc. for their continued support.
He added that this company has been providing vital support for the board for over a decade and is a major player in the success of Berbice cricket. He pointed out that all the Berbicians currently representing the county, Guyana and the West Indies are products of these competitions, making special mention of Narsingh Deonarine, Devindra Bishoo, Veerasammy Permaul, Assad Fudadin, Brandon Bess, Keon Joseph, Royston Crandon, Shimron Hetmyer and Gudakesh Motie among others.
Beharry closed by saying that while the BCB is in favor of the national league the GCB should bring back the Inter County senior competition, emphasizing that it is the pinnacle of the career of any local cricketer that doesn’t make the national team.
Vice President of BCB and Human Resource Manager of Guysuco, Albion Estate, Vemen Walter spoke of the importance of human resources in the success of businesses and private individuals.
He urged the gathering, made up of many young and aspiring cricketers, to make full use of this opportunity and touched on the importance of discipline, hard work and commitment. Walter further mentioned that even those who do not make it to the top, can still lead a comfortable life financially.
BCB Member Imtiaz Bacchus who is also President of Albion Cricket Club expressed his gratitude to the sponsors and reminded the gathering that the most important stakeholder of the game is sponsorship.
Secretary of the Guyana Cricket Board and Director of WICB, Anand Sanasie, graced the occasion and commended the BCB for securing such a significant sponsorship in a time when obtaining sponsorship is a difficult task.
He commended the BCB in being able to secure such long lasting partnerships and thanked Mr. Deonarine for his continued input into the game in Berbice which contributes meaningfully to the youths. Sanasie informed that the GCB will construct a state of the art Indoor Facility and Board Office in the county.
In response, Mr Deonarine, a partner of Tenelec Inc, praised the work of the BCB adding that he is happy to be able to give back to the sport in the county of his birth while first Vice President of the BCB, former international umpire Dhireindranath Somwaru thanked all sponsors, BCB and the media.
