Members of the recently-formed Healthy Living Club, along with a diverse group of individuals from Linden, visited Bamia on the Soesdyke/Linden highway, to offer several services to residents.
The outreach was held on Saturday, and the group consisted of doctors, teachers, nurses, housewives and student nurses attached to the Charles Roza School of Nursing.
Residents received school supplies, hampers and clothing. They were also given talks on health, and the younger ones were treated to storytelling.
Participants also benefited from blood pressure testing, glucose testing, pressure and diabetes testing.
Elderly persons were awarded with household supplies.
Registered Nurse, Collwin Allen, founder of the Healthy Living Club, said the group began services in Linden on July 2, 2016.
The group aims at promoting health and well being for its members through outreaches and health talks for members in the mining town.
The outreach was held in collaboration with several businesses, including Bernard Variety Store, Watch Man Store, Romain Shoe World and Banks DIH Limited.
Healthy Living with Nurse Allen is aired every Sunday from 19:00hrs to 20:00hrs on 104.3 power FM.
