An Adventure Village, Corentyne man, who went missing last Tuesday after leaving home, was found by relatives yesterday in the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC)’s Intensive Care Unit.
Emro Adrian Gomez, 31, had left home around 09:00 hrs on Tuesday to go to work at Nismes, West Bank Demerara (WBD) but never showed up. His wife, Susan Hickman got suspicious when he failed to make contact with her.
Gomez is the captain for a tug. The company operates in Nimes.
“He goes to work and comes home every month-end, but he calls every minute. He calls in the morning and night,” his wife said, while adding that she knew something was wrong when she was informed that he had not turned up at work.
When Wednesday passed and he failed to make contact with his relatives, they started searching all the hospitals and mortuaries for him early yesterday. Eventually, they found him in an unconscious state in the GPHC’s ICU.
They were informed that Gomez had been struck down by a car somewhere in Berbice and was taken to the hospital in a critical condition. It is unclear if anyone was arrested in relation to the accident.
