Sherwin Greene and Mary Correia captured the individual Men’s and Ladies titles when the Birthday Tournament for reigning national and Caribbean champion Sudesh ‘Kerry’ Fitzgerald was held on Sunday, at the Malteenoes Sports Club, Thomas Lands.
In the Men’s Singles, Greene came home ahead of Luis Merlano-Ramirez and Anup Lachhman in that order, while in the Ladies segment, Correia beat into second place Shondell Hyles with Rosita Hiralall occupying third.
In the Luck of the Draw Doubles, Sudesh Fitzgerald & Mary Correia teamed up to win from Shondell Hyles & Bryan James, while Luis Merlano-Ramirerz & Melissa Smartt finished third.
In the Team Game – Team Fulton comprising C. Fulton, B. James, C. France S. Greene beat the combination of Team G.I. Joes that included S. Fitzgerald, P. Allen, N. Seetaram, J. Bhupan, while Team Victors with V. Chandro, R. Hiralall, S. Hyles, T. Joseph in their line-up ended third.
The highest checkout of (91) was done by Adrian Damon, while the most 180’s were made by Luis Merlano-Ramirez
Among the sponsors on board were Bryan James, Terence Joseph, Edward Richmond, Lallchand Rambharose, Patrick Allen and Sudesh Fitzgerald.
