With the recent changes and adjustments made to the 10 annual Guyana Cup Horse race meet, closing date for the event has been extended to today due to a number of requests made by horse owners. Owners are making full use of the benevolence of the organisers as a number of last minute entries and sponsors are being received. Entries are expected to top the 80 mark.
The Jumbo Jet Auto Sales and Racing stable organized event in collaboration with the Port Mourant Turf Club is slated for Sunday 14th August 2016.
Meanwhile, the hype and impact created by the 2016 Guyana Cup has caught the eyes and pocked of the America Promotional group “Live By the Henny” of New York City. The group which promotes all kinds of events including parties in the NYC area has joined the sponsorship bandwagon.
CEO Dereck Singh was on hand to hand over the sponsorship package to Jonathan Ally of the Jumbo Jet Organising Committee.
Ramesh Sunich of the Trophy Stall yesterday handed over a number of beautiful trophies to coordinator is Nasrudeen (Jumbo Jet) Mohamed for the top performers including champion jockey and trainer. Sunich has lent yeoman service to sporting events over the years and has been a staunch support of horseracing.
Other major sponsors include the Government of Guyana, Banks DIH Limited, Trophy Stall, Nand Persaud and Company among others.
Nine races are listed on the days programme with over $30M up for grabs.
The feature A and lower event is expected to be a scorcher with all of the top horses in the country entered to participate.
A whopping $4M and the Guyana Cup Trophy compliments of Banks DIH Limited is available for the winner from a sumptuous $8M package over 1800M. Horses such as double defending champion CP Got Even, Score’s Even, Kings Knight Just Call Me Boss, Princess She Not, Golden Blue Echo, Spit Fire, Plum Plum, Lady Budapest, Climate Change, Blame the Jockey, Jack in My Style and the newly imported Brave Sky out of the USA will be looking to make an impact immediately upon arrival.
Among other animals entered for the mega event so far are-Big Man Boss, Captain Crook, Got To Go and Quiet Strom, Witchy Poo, Red Rocket, Isn’t She Charming Firing Line, Appealing Harvest, Rosetta, Super Bowl, It’s My Turn, It’s My Choice, Cat Messiah, Release the Beast, Perfect Wind Storm, Keep On Swinging ,Wise Secret , She So Special, Super Cat, Royal Jet, Perfect Gold, King Stanley, Ausome Cash, Flash Again, Natural Beauty, Genuine Risk, Seven Dust ,Valtimore, Mystery Man, Plan Land, Three P Prince, People Will talk, Daddy’s Dollar, Affinity, Iron man, Fire ball, Blundy, Dirt Man, Blue Lightning, Lil Axe, Momentum, and Peace of cash, Party Time, Peace of Cash, Slim Shady, Secret Thinker, Amazon Warrior, Little, Red Region , Red Jet, the Suriname pair of Expresso and Buffen.
