Coach of the Mercury Fast Laners Club Chris Gaskin has extended congratulations to members of the club who were successful at the recently concluded National Schools track and field championships at the National Stadium.

Gaskin said that their achievements were mainly due to the rigid training they put in prior to the competition, and thanked his assistant Leroy Bristol for providing valuable advice during the championships.
Cassie Small grabbed gold medals in the girls U16 400 m and 4x100m relay and silvers in the 100, 200 and 4x400m relay competing in the girls U16 category representing East Georgetown.
Kenisha Prescott of Upper Demerara took gold in the girls U20 100 and 200m while Keifon Jack of East Georgetown landed gold in the boys U12 200m and took the runner up spot in the 100m.
Tiffanna Garnette of South Georgetown finished third in the girls U16 100 and 200m. Princess Brown of East Georgetown took silver in the girls U14 long jump and bronze in the 400m while Ron Moseley won silver in the boys U14 medley.
Gaskin informed that the club finished fourth in the last Boyce and Jefford classic and the athletes are currently engaged in off-season training.
