Centuries by Altaf Alli and Shaquan Smith handed West Ruimveldt a mammoth 148-run victory over St. Pius when the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB)/Scotiabank Kiddy progression one cricket continued Friday.
Alli struck an unbeaten 114, while Smith hammered 102 as West Ruimveldt posted 247-1 off their allotted 14 overs, batting first at the National Racquet Centre, Woolford Avenue.
St. Pius were bowled out for 99 in14 overs in reply. Triston Obrien made 17 and Travell Daniel 14.
Grove Primary edged New Diamond/Grove by five runs. New Diamond Grove batted first and initially made 72 all out in 14 overs, but five runs were deducted from their total after they were bowled out which reduced them to 67. Ronaldo Adams got 18 and Daniel Da Costa 10; Mark Smith and Rajin Dhanraj captured two wickets apiece. Grove responded with 74-4 in six overs. Dhanraj scored 34, Mark Couiers 24 and Kevin Persaud 11. Tahir Rambharose picked up 2-1.
