Bagostown defeated Central Georgetown by 30 runs to win the final of the Commander A Division (Clifton Hicken) 5/5 softball competition which was contested yesterday at Police Sports Club ground, Eve Leary.

Bagostown batted first and posted 79-2 off their allotted overs. Randolph Pereira smashed five fours and four sixes in a top score of 44 while Triston Daniels made 13. Central Georgetown were restricted to 49-7 in reply. Mahase Ramjattan and Pereira claimed three wickets each.
Bagostown overcame Tiger Bay by nine runs in their semi final encounter. Bagostown scored 67-1, batting first. Pereira cracked 40 and Daniels contributed 27. Tiger Bay replied with 58-6 in reply.
Orin Moore made 27 and Akaze Thompson 15; Pereira and Daniels picked up two wickets each. Central Georgetown Beat Mocha in the next semi final game. Tiger Bay got the better of Mocha to claim third place. After restricting Mocha for 41, Tiger Bay responded with 42-2.
Bagostown received the Seelall Persaud trophy; Central Georgetown collected the Clifton Hicken hardware while Tiger Bay took home the Altea Scipio prize. The competition was organised to keep the youths meaningfully occupied and to forge better relationship among communities.
