A labourer was arraigned before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry on Wednesday at the Georgetown

Magistrates’ Courts, after the police found him hiding under a bed with cocaine in his pants pocket.
Nisam Osmond, 27, of Albouystown, pleaded not guilty to the charge which stated that on April 13, at Cross Street, he had two grams of cocaine in his possession for the purpose of trafficking.
According to the prosecution’s facts, the police visited a home at Cross Street and conducted a search on an apartment. The defendant was found lying under a bed. A search was then conducted on his person and the drug was found in his pants pocket.
He was then taken to the police station where he was charged for the offence.
Nisam will make his next court appearance on April 30, before Magistrate Fabayo Azore.
