After a training break for the Christmas Holidays, the Little DIVA Flames Female Football Club will recommence training on Saturday 11th January 2014 at the Georgetown Football Club (GFC) Ground commencing at 06:30 hrs.
The team was founded on 15th September 2013 and has a membership of 28 persons. The main objective of the formation of the club was/is to create a safe and friendly environment for young females who are interested in football and to harness their skills and develop them in becoming better players with the aim of representing Guyana in the future.
Their first activity will be on Sunday 26th January 2014 when the team will be engaged in a friendly game against the Monedderlust Football Club at the opening of the Clubs’ 2014 Football Season in #5 Village, West Coast Berbice.
Also slated for early March is a proposed Uder-19 tournament involving Berbice, Linden, Buxton, West Demerara, Eagles FC of Georgetown, Monedderlust FC and Little DIVA Flames FC.
The participation of Bartica, Lethem and Kamarang is also being considered. Plans are also on stream to take the team to Lethem during the Easter period to participate in an Annual Football Tournament held during the Rodeo. The Club has already been invited and has accepted the invitation in principle.
