GCA\Banks Malta U-13 tourney…TSC, GYO march into final

Transport Sports Club (TSC) and Gandhi Youth Organization (GYO) have booked their places in the final of the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA)\Banks Malta Supreme U-13 25 overs competition after gaining victories in their respective semifinal matches last Saturday.

At GYO TSC defeated Everest Cricket Club by 121 runs in the first semi final at 09:30 hrs. Everest batted first and scored 310 in 25 overs but suffered 12 dismissals in the process which reduced them to 190. Joshua Persaud was their best batsman with 23 while Damien Persaud made 13 and Mahendra Khemraj 10. Toney Adjodha, Inderjeet Nanan, Joel Spooner and Jalen Chancellor picked up 2 wickets each for TSC who replied with 351 for 4 in 25 overs, ending on 311. Adrian Hinds made 12 and Fazal Dyal 11. Sachin Persaud, Sachin Ramroop, Nicholas Sattaur and Damien Persaud had 1 each.
At 13:30 hrs at the said venue, GYO overcame Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) by 93 runs in the second semi. GYO took first strike and mustered 319 in 25 overs but lost 4 wickets which lessened them to 279. Chandra Mohan top scored with 23 while Robin Williams supported with 17 and Danesh Ally 11; Jospice Jones took 2-4. DCC responded with 326 enduring 14 dismissals in their 25 overs, finishing on 186 with Alphius Bookie scoring 20 and Ashmead Nedd 17. Elnathan Suknandan did most of the damage with the ball picking up 6-6 while Varun Jaikeshan claimed 3-10.
The final is expected to be played on Saturday at a venue to be announced.
