The Linden Amateur Basketball Association (LABA) will be staging its annual Trophy Stall Open League Basketball championship for teams in Linden starting on Friday with a double header at the Mackenzie Sports Club Hard Court.
Secretary of the LABA Joseph Chapman indicated that this year’s championship will attract eight clubs among them being the top ranked Kashif and Shanghai Kings, Amelia’s Ward Jets, Half Mile Bulls, Retrieve Raiders, Victory Valley Royals, Wismar Pistons, Block 22 Flames and Bankers Trust Falcons.
The association will have a presentation of the various trophies by Ramesh Sunich, proprietor of Ramesh Trophy Stall at Bourda Market tomorrow morning at 10:00am.
Chapman said that the annual tournament is usually held earlier in the year but circumstances beyond their control have seen the tournament shift to September this year.
He said however that interest is high for the championship and Sunich committed to providing the relevant trophies for the tournament, as he had done last year.
