In the featured game of the night, Christianburgh/Wismar Secondary School (CWSS) joined the titans of the competition with the clinical 53-33 win against the Government Technical Institute (GTI). The seasoned campaigner, Travin Dryden scored 20 points for CWSS with Terron Welch adding 16 points.
Dwight Gray had 13 points for GTI while Darrel Williams scored nine points. CWSS completely outplayed GTI with fundamental basketball using Dryden and Edward Semple to their advantage in the paint. CWSS led 31-16 at halftime.
Semple scored four consecutive points to start the second half of the game and continue the route of GTI; even back-to-back free-throws, including an And1 from Gray could not suffice as CWSS kept the momentum and pressure to finish on a high. (Edison Jefford)
