After the killing of 17-year-old Shaquille Grant by police Tuesday, Agricola residents have burnt tyres on the southern section of the four-lane East Bank Demerara Public Road for two successive nights, causing vehicular traffic to use the north-bound lane as a two-way lane.
And inside the village at the scene where Grant was shot and killed, angry residents torched a car owned by a resident of the area.
Shaquille Grant was killed while 20-year-old Romell Bollers was injured at Caesar Street, Agricola.
The rubble from the road was removed after fire fighters were summoned to the scene once more last night to extinguish the flames.
Police with the aid of fighter fighters then removed the debris from the road allowing traffic to flow freely on the public road a short while later.
Police are maintaining a presence in the community. However, no arrests were made.
