Caribbean Airlines confirmed the drug bust at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport when on March 11, last, Security Agents in Guyana seized a quantity of narcotics found within the perimeter of the airport.
However, contrary to reports made in certain sections of the media, no Caribbean Airlines employees have been questioned or detained in connection with this incident.
Several persons found in close proximity of the find, are assisting the Guyana Police Force and Narcotics Unit in the investigation.
In a statement Caribbean Airlines said that among these persons, is a mechanic, who is not employed by the airline, but is attached to a foreign company.
