Camptown 4-2 on penalty kicks after regulation time failed to separate the 1-1 stalemate as play in the GFA / President Beer Super League continued on Sunday with a triple-header, at the GFC ground.
In the penalty shootout, the Army got their goals off the boots of Seon Prince, Delwin Fraser, Paul Bobb and Delroy Deen, while Peter Parks and Jamal Codrington were the only members of the Camptown line-up to score.
Earlier, Seon Brewley had given the soldiers the lead in the 17th minute and they took that advantage to the break, before Parks’ effort in the 70th minute levelled the contest until the final whistle sounded to send the battle into penalty kicks.
In the other encounters, Police beat Houston Stars 3-0 with Jermain Castello (55th), Jason Critchlow (57th) and Rondel Arthur (80th), the goal-scorers, while Northern rangers eased past Black Pearl by a 2-0 margin.
On target for the winners were Nicholas Sancho (76th) and Anthony Sancho (78th).
The League continues tomorrow with a double header at the same venue.
In the opening game, GFC play hosts to UG from 18:00 hrs, while Riddim Squad square off against Fruta Conquerors at 20:00 hrs.
