Budget Super Centre will sponsor this weekend Medal Play golf tournament as the local players gear up for a hectic period on the 2011 golfing calendar.
Today’s tournament will feature the cream of the country’s players in what is anticipated to be a keenly contest competition at the Lusignan golf Course, East Coast Demerara.
Club Captain Brian Glasford disclosed that greens and fairway are in excellent condition paving the way for very good scores.
The lineup is expected to include Ronald Bulkan, Mike Mangal, Mike Gayadin, Brian Hackett, Maurice Solomon, Esau Shamshudin, Troy Cadogan, Carlos Adams, Colin Ming, Mohanlall Dinanauth, Dr, Ram Singh, Rawle Moore, Albert Russell, Jerome Khan, Mark Lashley, William Walker, Patrick Prashad, Christine Sukhram, Robert Hanoman, Chatterpaul Deo, Bholaram Deo and Muntaz Haniff.
Tee off is at 12:30 hours.
Prizes will be awarded to the top three players with the best gross scores as well as Nearest to the Pin.
Glasford disclosed for next weekend will be the CANAM Challenge tournament sponsored by Canadian-based Guyanese golfers.
Details are being finalized for this mega tournament, the club official noted.
Meanwhile, Kevin Sears shot a gross 95 net 67 to win last Saturday’s Club tournament.
