The mother of Deepa Sahadeo, Phulmattie Sahadeo had approached Foster for assistance and he readily agreed to assist. Foster stated that the Berbice Board is no longer a cricketing authority alone but has successfully transformed itself into a social NGO with the main aim of touching lives.
He told young Deepa Sahadeo that the Berbice Cricket Board and the cricketers would be praying for her during the operation in India and wishes her a speedy recovery. Foster also expressed gratitude to everyone who contributed to the fund.
Mrs. Sahadeo expressed gratitude to the BCB, the national players and other donors for making an effort to assist her ailing daughter. She specially mentioned Foster and the Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club for the major role they played when she visited the club office.
