Scrabble players vie for top prize in GASP Eid Ul Adha Open tournament
Moen Gafoor recently chalked up a decisive victory when the Guyana Association of Scrabble Players (GASP) held its Diwali Scrabble tournament at the Malteenoes Cricket Club, Thomas Land. He would attempt to extend his form another notch when the GASP stages its Eid Ul Adha senior scrabble tournament at the same venue tomorrow.
While Gafoor is at the top of his game and is a frontrunner to cart off the spoils, he would have to be wary of the other seasoned players the likes of Orlando Michael, Colin Chichester, Caribbean champion, Fred Collins and National champion Abigail McDonald, all threats to his accomplishment on their day.
The players would be contesting for trophies donated by the business community and as per usual the tournament gets underway at 10:00hrs sharp. Players are, however, reminded that the registration commences at 09:45hrs. Late comers would be penalized as their clocks would be activated at around 10:00hrs much to their disadvantage. Those interested in participating are asked to contact any of the senior players.
