Courts Pacesetters Coach, Robert ‘Bobby’ Cadogan says that his team will end their three-game series against Ravens in two games. Cadogan said that he has much to prove and the opportunity is one that he has been waiting on for a very long time.
Pacesetters and Ravens are set to renew an old rivalry when the two teams battle for top honours in the Division I Championship Playoffs of the Pepsi Street Series. Ravens enter this game with two heavy wins against Pacesetters in their last two games.

THIS IS HOW YOU PLAY DEFENCE!!! Courts Pacesetters’ Coach, Robert ‘Bobby’ Cadogan (right) demonstrates a defensive technique yesterday during his team’s practice on the Burnham Basketball Court ahead of the Pepsi Street Series Final.
Game one of the Playoffs is set for tomorrow night on the Burnham Basketball Court, and while not making any excuses for his team’s last two performances against Ravens, Cadogan says that things have changed and so will the result of the archaic rivalry.
Ravens won the Georgetown Amateur Basketball Association (GABA) Division I League and as fate would have it, Pacesetters finished as runners-up. The three-game series, therefore, brings to the fore the two best teams in Georgetown to settle the score.
The last time Pacesetters and Ravens played, Ravens blew out Pacesetters 69-49 after Pacesetters had complained about referees’ bias in their preceding game. That was in the Sports Hall but this contest is on a totally different surface and environment.
Cadogan believes that all is in their favour. “We will take care of business because Ravens are in our home on Burnham Court. Pacesetters will finish this in two games and then you will say that they beat us twice and we beat them back twice,” he indicated.
Asked what he will do differently from their two previous lost to Ravens, Cadogan admitted that his team had some “lapses” and “short comings” but those were in the past. He said that his team has worked on their weaknesses and is ready for the challenge.
“Pacesetters is such a big team in this country that when we lose a game or two, it is felt all over the country. Fans react and we know that but I can’t let everything out of the bag, some things I’ll leave for the basketball court,” a confident Cadogan said.
Codagan, speaking to Kaieteur Sport at his team’s practice yesterday, says that his team has to be more disciplined and play more defence. The Coach is of the view that his offence is solid and in tact, but his team-defence needs to come up to scratch.
