After two-days of intense battles, Britany van Lange and Ronaldo Rodrigues have been holding their own as the best swimmers in the land battle for places on Guyana team to the 2010 Goodwill Swimming Championships slated for Suriname next month. Britany van Lange, who was outstanding for her country at the last championships which were hosted in Barbados last year, continues to show great consistency and class and is certainly one of our Olympic prospects for the future.
Ronaldo Rodrigues has made a welcome return to the sport and has wasted little time in getting back into the grove.
All the athletes have made the B time for their various events and according to an official of GASA this should not be too much of a worry since the athletes will peak at the right time.
van Lange has qualified for the 50m & 100m free, 50m breast and 50m fly while \Rodrigues has made the qualifying times for the 50m & 100m breast and 50m fly.
Serrano Gonsalves made the times for the 100m back and 50m fly; Steffi De Nobrega made the time for the 50m breast as did Kevon De Moura while Soroya Simmons qualified for the 100m back. Today is the final day of the trials. Warm-up starts at 11:00am and competition swims off at 12:00noon.
Following are the events, age group, qualifying times for the athletes.
