Dear Editor,
Twice in recent weeks I read the puerile, inane and myopic attempts/offerings of Davenand Bhagwan.
He simply is the ultimate expert at spotting the ‘mote’ in Freddie Kissoon’s writings against the PPP Government, but cannot actually notice the ‘boulders’ in his own eyes and those he apotheosizes.
So Mr. Kissoon is guilty of a few misdemeanors and peccadilloes: he rants and raves, he is pushy and boisterous etc.
But what about the PPP, specifically the actual head? Think on these – the venal nature of the police and army, the malversations of Kwame McCoy, the utter and blatant tergiversations of the President as regards the ‘Clico Girl’ and on and on ad infinaitum. Are you blind? Or better yet, are you another paid sycophant? Get real, Sir.
My second issue is that of the recent, but now established phenomenon of vagrants in the city of Georgetown. It is a chronic miasma, and very reflective of the PPP Government. It smacks of insensitivity and incompetence.
Now this is a good topic for the ilk of the Bhagwans. I suggest that the host of PPP-ites take occasionally rendezvous in their ‘garden city.’ It would be a great gesture to have foreigners take ‘shots’ of Georgetown and emblazon them on the various websites.
Now do not tell me that it is the same with Haiti, Ethiopia etc. Say instead, that according to the Jagdeo administration, Guyana has experienced growth. Let the observers/interpreters determine if it is a phototropic or hydrotropic growth.
Finally, I repeat my call for Messrs Randy Persaud, Anand Boodram and Vishnu Bisram to return to the land of their birth and serve their country. This will give them a number of great opportunities. They will be able to enjoy the largesse of earning a good Guyanese salary, teach in the institutions here, confront and debunk Freddie Kissoon, and especially, display the deserted thralldom that is due to ‘their’ PPP leaders, namely Mr. Jagdeo. Also, for Mr. Bisram, it will give you a chance to encourage and maybe organise a trip to Mother India for the locals. Why, then you will be able to talk about how Guyanese in Guyana went about it – the ease and joy of it all. Tell me what you think?
Shane Rizwan
