Preparations rapidly underway
Guyana will host the 2010 Caribbean Central Bank (CCB) Games on the Easter Weekend with preparations in the various disciplines rapidly underway for the successful staging of the central regional financial institution competition.
Kaieteur Sport understands that nine disciplines will be contested with the national bodies responsible for them assisting the Bank of Guyana with the technical aspects. Those local teams have been arduously preparing for the event.
Jody-Ann Blake is expected to lead the Bank’s Table Tennis challenge while Ravens and national basketball player, Ryan Stephney will take on the basketball rivalry. The athletes are among the best employed at the Bank of Guyana. This newspaper understands that Blake will also compete in Netball and Volleyball with Coach, Lavern Fraser attached to the Netball teams with former national player, Ian Wills preparing the Volleyball teams for the competition.
The other disciplines include Football, Cricket, Dominoes, Chess and Darts. Those teams confirmed for participation are Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, Belize and a combined Eastern Caribbean Central Bank team.
