Grove Hi Tec and Timehri Panthers kept their unbeaten records intact following wins in the latest round of matches in the 2009 Stag Beer sponsored East Bank Football Association (EBFA) division one league being played at the Grove ground.
Home team Grove Hi Tec inflicted a 5-0 whipping of Mocha Champs behind a double from Mervin Squires who was on target in the 7th and 13th minute.
Dexter Archer had opened the scoring in the 5th minute of play while John Matthews added his in the 30th and Dominic Garnett sealed the win in the 48th.
Mocha never posed any major threats to Grove who have now moved to 10 points from 4 matches and second in the standings to leaders Timehri Panthers who have played one game more.
Timehri sealed victory number 4 with another clinical display as they turned back the challenge of Kuru Kururu Warriors, their second loss in 5 matches.
Lawrence Steele sent Timehri into the lead 5 minutes into the encounter from the penalty spot. The sealer was netted by Eon Dowding in the 68th minute.
The Warriors remain on 9 points and third in the standings ahead of Yarrowkabra (7), Soesdyke Falcons (6), Mocha Champs (4), Kuru Kuru Lions (0) and Agricola (0).
League action is set to continue on Sunday at the same venue with another double header.
