Half centuries from Arjune Jagroo and Troy Harper and a four wicket haul by Essequibo left arm spinner Robert Moore propelled Hampshire to a comfortable victory over President X1 as the Busta 20/20 cricket competition continued last Sunday in Bartica with one game.
At the Bartica Community Centre Ground Hampshire batted first and piled up 238-7 off their allotted overs. Jagroo top scored with 64 while Harper made 51 and Ravi Sewnarine 33. Ryan Federicks took 3-36 and Teon Vanderhyden 2-21.
President X1 in reply could only muster 106 before they were bowled out in 14 overs.
Rockliff Sandy scored 43 and former Essequibo U-19 pacer Tristen Massina 20 as Robert Moore bagged 4-28 and Sherwin Murray 2-9 for the winners.
The competition continues on Sunday with Orient facing President X1 and New Uprising doing battle with untouchables.
Meanwhile, Hampshire have already qualified for the final after topping group A. They are awaiting the winner from group B.
