Dear Editor,
I am sadden by the “dumbness” of one Randy Persaud in his letter to your newspaper dated 25th August 2009, and captioned, “AFC in a Pickle”.
I found it hard to comprehend the point Randy was trying to establish. It is obvious that he appears to be one of the confused individual in the ‘smear camp’ of the present administration. Randy has no evidence that the PNC has conducted a fraudulent election – it is “alleged,” not proven.
Randy should remember that the Commander-in-Chief – the leader of the administration of the ‘smear camp’ would often say to the opposition, “give me the evidence and I will instruct the necessary personnel to conduct their investigation.”
Calls of such quotes are also often being made by the Commander – HPS of the ‘smear camp’ at his weekly press conference.
Persaud should try to first pressure his leaders to come clear on their deals and association with drugs lords and irregular practices; if he wants to write do so on facts, not allegations.
Randy must understand that the dignified leaders of the AFC are not obligated to sanction the validity of the PNC’s election.
The domestic affairs of the PNC should be dealt with by the leaders of that party and their followers. While it may appear to be a “right thing” for others to sanction the issue – it is unethical for one to establish or join the many that have sanctioned the said matter without proof.
Randy failed to comprehend the fact that the joint opposition was established before the election was conducted.
The principle of a joint opposition is not to establish a personal relationship with others, but common objectives of highlighting the inefficiency of an apparently dumb administration – their acts of unapologetic corruption, violation of human rights and abominable deviances.
I wish to recommend that Randy Persaud and all his other camping colleagues should direct their energies to invoke the presence of a divine Creator to sanctify their own corrupt camp of apparently bemonised, bitter, unrepentant individuals. Randy certainly appears to be camping in the ‘smear camp’ for the wrong reason – stop, think and make a more intellectual pronouncement. Mark Thomas
