The toss up for the 6th and final spot on Guyana’s male team for the Inter Guiana Games was a three way tussle between Jaime Jabar, Kevon De Moura and Zagale Fernandes and following deliberations by the Technical Committee of the Guyana Amateur Swimming Association, Jabar gained the nod.
Jabar will join forces with Alan and Henk Lowe, Joseph Seguina, Sheik Amir and Niall Roberts aiming to make this country’s team unbeatable at the upcoming Inter Guiana Games swimming championships at the Castellani Pool.
The female team will be led by Noelle Smith and includes Steffi De Nobrega, Athena Gaskin, Aureyah Payne, Britany van Lange and Soroya Simmons.
Training under the guidance of Coach Christopher McAdam is held daily at the Castellani Pool except Sundays.
A total of 10 individual events will be contested at the Games (April 24-27) with each swimmer competing in 4.
Athletes will compete in the 50 and 100m butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke and freestyle. 200m free and individual medley while two relays will also be contested, 4 X 50 free and 4 X 50 medley.
