Thirty seven year-old former Berbice senior Inter-County all-rounder Luke Latiff and fellow Guyanese cricketers Kellon Carmichael and Toralva Scipio produced good performances in the second round of the Trinidad and Tobago two-day cricket competition.
Latiff batted for over two hours with a swollen ankle in a defiant unbeaten 36 and shared in a 117-run last wicket partnership with Dexter Henry (60) to ensure Sweet Revenge held on for a draw in their game against Barataria in Central Trinidad over the weekend.
Sweet Revenge won the toss and were dismissed for 118 by Barataria who fell for 251 just before lunch on the second day.
Scipio, a former Guyana under-15 off-spinner grabbed 5-49 from 25 overs and got support Carmichael who took 2-42 from 18 overs.
Sweet Revenge then replied with 266 before they were dismissed with four overs remaining in the match and not enough time for Barataria to achieve a win.
Henry hit five fours and a six before he was last out while Latiff batted with a runner after he had twisted his ankle earlier in the game. Carmichael hit two fours in 30.
The competition has been suspended for three weeks to accommodate the Fifth and final Test between West Indies and England and the Twenty/20 International between the two sides.
