All the speculation surrounding whether Canadian racer Kevin Graham would participate in tomorrow’s Guyana Motor Racing & Sports Club International Race Meeting has been put to rest following his arrival earlier in the week.
Graham, who has been the most dominant rider on the South Dakota Circuit for the past three years was seen going through his paces last Wednesday at the track and seemed to be right on target, recording some fantastic lap times which will certainly create some concern for his opponents.
The veteran racer told Kaieteur Sport sometime ago that he is officially retired, but still enjoys coming back to Guyana to entertain the fans.
“ I really enjoy being in Guyana whenever I can, but current work commitments has had me quite busy and uncertain about competing at this Meet, but I’m glad to be here once again,” Graham indicated.
Chris McLean
Graham along with fellow Canadian Craig Atkinson are aiming to throw down the gauntlet on locals Stephen ‘Valentino Rossi’ Vieira, Gregory Lopes, Andy Rajkaran, Joel Neblett, Maurice Menezes and the young rising star Christopher McLean, who has impressed all with his rapid progress to date.
The Canadian speedster, who rides a 1000cc Yamaha, has been known in the past to be very sporting, giving up huge leads, before accelerating and most times catching his opponents before the race finishes.
However, with all the locals significantly improving their machines, it would not be unexpected to see any of the above mentioned upstage the Canadian, but that still remains a formidable task, judging from the way the machine has been performing during practice sessions. Today is the qualifying sessions.
