Tennis Coaches (from left) Shelly Daly-Ramdyhan, Debbie Bunbury and Carol Humphrey pose for Kaieteur Sport.
Guyana’s three most experienced tennis coaches departed these shores yesterday morning to attend an International Tennis Federation (ITF) Regional Coaching Conference in El Salvador.
Those attending the conference which runs from September 14-20 are current national coach Shelly Daly-Ramdyhan, Debbie Bunbury and Berbician Carol Humphrey.
The team will be spearheaded by the highly qualified Bunbury, who has been coaching for over twenty years and holds a Level 1 certificate from the ITF along with many other accredited stints.
This includes participation in the International Worldwide Coaches Workshops in Mexico and the United Kingdom and being part of a panel of coaches who’ve participated in tennis camps geared to improve the skills of some of the top junior players on the Caribbean Circuit.
Meanwhile, Daly-Ramdyhan, who apart from being the national coach, is also the co-ordinator of the mini-tennis programme for schools and recently acquired her Level 1 certificate for coaching in Barbados.
Humphrey, a former national champion has also attended many ITF Coaching Programmes and holds clinics in Berbice as well with much success.
