Kaieteur Sports – Shemar Britton once again proved why he is Guyana’s premier table tennis player, storming through the competition at the Guyana Table Tennis Association (GTTA) National Senior Championships to claim the Men’s Singles title with an undefeated run.

Britton was in a league of his own last evening at the National Gymnasium, displaying precision, pace, and tactical brilliance as he dismantled every opponent in straight-forward fashion.
The national ace closed the round-robin format with a flawless 14 points, brushing aside challengers Jonathan VanLange, Elishaba Johnson, Nigel Bryan, and the rest of the field without dropping a match.
The victory cemented Britton as the undisputed Men’s Singles champion, but it also completed a remarkable triple crown performance at this year’s championships.
Earlier in the tournament, he had already captured the Men’s Doubles title with Jonathan VanLange, and the Mixed Doubles crown with Olympian Chelsea Edghill, underlining his dominance in this year’s Championships.
In the final standings, Johnson (13 points) finished runner-up, showing grit and consistency, while VanLange secured third place with 12 points.
Joel Alleyne battled valiantly to place fourth, but no one could match the relentless form of Britton, who controlled rallies with his punishing forehand drives and smart variations in spin.
With his flawless sweep, Britton reasserted his status at the top of the local game, while sending a clear message ahead of upcoming regional assignments.
