(Kaieteur News) – GraceKennedy Money Services (GKMS) Guyana has reaffirmed its commitment to community development through the donation of essential grocery and household items to Uncle Eddie’s Home and Joshua House Children Centre in Georgetown.
The donations, made on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, were intended to support the nutritional and daily operational needs of the residents at both institutions which provide care for senior citizens and children in need. The items donated include rice, flour, cooking oil, canned goods, cereals, beverages, condiments, other pantry staples as well as household cleaning supplies.
Representatives from GKMS Guyana visited both facilities to personally deliver the items, spend time with the staff, and express appreciation for the invaluable work these organizations continue to do in caring for society’s most vulnerable.

Country Manager of GKMS Guyana, Troy Williams, said the initiative reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to serving communities beyond its financial services.
He noted “At GraceKennedy Money Services, we believe our responsibility extends beyond providing financial solutions. We are equally committed to investing in the well-being of our communities and supporting organizations that make a meaningful impact every day. We hope these contributions bring comfort and encouragement to the residents of Uncle Eddie’s Home and Joshua House Children Centre, and we commend the caregivers and staff for their unwavering dedication.”
He added that community outreach remains an important pillar of the company’s corporate social responsibility programme.
Susan Rijkaard, Administrator of Joshua House Children Centre, expressed appreciation for the donation and GKMS Guyana’s support for the children in its care..
She said “We are deeply grateful to GraceKennedy Money Services for this thoughtful donation. Contributions like these help us meet the daily needs of our children while reminding them that they are surrounded by people and organizations who genuinely care. We appreciate this partnership and thank the GraceKennedy team for their generosity and compassion.”
At Uncle Eddie’s Home, Administrator Christine Hales also welcomed the contribution, noting the positive impact it will have on the home’s residents.
“We sincerely thank GraceKennedy Money Services for remembering our seniors. This generous donation of grocery items will greatly assist us in providing nutritious meals and maintaining the level of care our residents deserve. We are grateful for this act of kindness and for organizations that continue to support our mission of caring for the elderly,” Hales asserted
GKMS Guyana extends sincere gratitude to the management and staff of both Uncle Eddie’s Home and Joshua House Children Centre for the warm welcome and for the compassionate care they provide to those entrusted to them.
