(Kaieteur News) – What started as a simple idea inspired by a graphic T-shirt business has grown into one of West Coast Berbice’s most recognised annual summer events.
Kellyann “Kelz” Jerrick, founder of Kelz Entertainment and creator of Grafix Tees & Jeans, is preparing to celebrate the event’s 5th Anniversary on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at Almond sand Lawn, No. 28 Village, West Coast Berbice.
The journey began after Jerrick hosted her first event, a Construction Party in collaboration with Guyanese Artiste, Vintage. Following that event, she began searching for a unique concept that reflected her personality and business interests.
At the time, she was operating a graphic T-shirt business and drew inspiration from something she saw every day.
“I was already selling graphic tees and realised that it’s something people from all walks of life wear. That’s when the idea came to me to create an event centred around graphic tees and jeans, where people could express their style while enjoying great entertainment and good vibes,” Jerrick explained.
That vision became a reality in 2021 with the launch of the first Grafix Tees & Jeans event.
Over the past five years, Grafix Tees & Jeans has evolved into more than just an event. It has become a celebration of fashion, entertainment, creativity, and community. Through challenges, setbacks, and the demanding nature of event promotion, Jerrick remained committed to building the brand year after year.
“Five years means a lot to me because it represents consistency. There were times when things didn’t go according to plan, but I never gave up on the vision. Every year I focused on improving and giving patrons something to look forward to.”
This year’s anniversary holds special significance as it marks a major milestone for both the event and the entrepreneur behind it. The celebration will feature anniversary-themed décor, competitions, giveaways, entertainment, and a visual tribute to the journey that began in 2021.
Patrons can also look forward to an over GYD $100,000 cash prize. Participating crews must be dressed in graphic tees and have purchased a table package to qualify. Additional anniversary giveaways and special prizes will also form part of the celebration.
Jerrick says the anniversary is not only about celebrating an event but also recognising the power of persistence and believing in an idea.
“Sometimes people only see the final product. They don’t see the sacrifices, disappointments, sleepless nights, or hard work behind the scenes. Reaching five years reminds me that consistency pays off and that you should never stop believing in something you’ve worked hard to build.”
As Grafix Tees & Jeans celebrates its 5th Anniversary, the milestone serves as a reminder that a simple idea inspired by a T-shirt business can grow into a lasting brand through passion, dedication, and community support.
Grafix Tees & Jeans 5th Anniversary takes place on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at Almondsand Lawn, No. 28 Village, West Coast Berbice. Early bird admission is GYD $1500, while admission at the gate will be GYD $2000.
Jerrick also extended special thanks to all sponsors especially Guinness for their continued support over the years, and to longtime partners Juggernaut Entertainment for their guidance, encouragement, and unwavering support throughout the Grafix Tees & Jeans journey.
