Beharry U19 School’s T20 cricket tournament… Aurora, Charity among winners as action bowls off
Kaieteur Sports – The opening round of the Beharry School’s T20 cricket tournament bowled off yesterday with some exciting matches hosted across the Region 3, Essequibo district; featuring top performances from some of Guyana’s brightest prospects.
Abram Zuil beat Cotton Field by 10 wickets
Cotton Field were mowed down for just 19 runs in 7 overs after match MVP Ravid Fredericks captured amazing figures of 7-14 as no batter got into double figures.

Marcanthony Obermuller (9*) and Fredricks (6*) then returned to chase down the target in just 1.2 overs to end on 20-0
Aurora Secondary beat Johanna Cecelia by 6 wickets
Avinash Singh (17) and Avinash Seurattan (16) pushed JC Secondary to 66-10 in 13.4 overs, after Siamel Payne (3-13) and Arif Singh (3-12) and Angel Person (2-19).

Aurora then cruised to 70-4 led by national youth player Jathniel Nurse (15*) and Man-of-the-match Singh (7), led the chase.
Charity beat Anna Regina Secondary by 3-wickets
Anna Regina were kept to 89-10 with contributions from the duo of Darius Pearson (24) and Jonathan Barry (18).
Charity bowling was led by the trio of Javon Ramdunhar (3-17), Brandon Perriera (2-10) and Jeral Gildharie (2-14), who set up the match for their team who ended on 90-7.

Donald Peters (24), Gildharie (17) and Perriera (14*) then reunited to carry their side to victory, despite two wickets apiece from Pearson and Tyrese Stephney.
West Demerara beat Patentia by 2 wickets
Jeremiah Garnett
Batting first, Patentia managed 75-10 after Jeremiah Garnett bagged 4 wickets for West Demerara, leaving Abdool Ahamad (12) as the main scorer.
West Demerara then got to 76-8 after Ahamad returned to score 18 despite Patentia’s Jadon Birch snagging 4-18 in a losing effort. (Clifton Ross)
