(Kaieteur News) – Dem boys seh is a strange, strange time in dis country. Government done roll out a brand-new Citizens App—yes, an actual place where people could log in and complain ’bout government service.
When dem boys hear about de app, dem boys, nearly drop dem cup ah tea. Because normally, if you want complain, you does either holler pon de roadside, cuss pun Facebook, or tell yuh neighbour who ain’t got no power to fix nothing anyway.
But now? Is official complaining. Digitally. Modern problems meet modern vexation.
Dem boys seh, surprisingly, is a good thing. People could finally channel dem frustration without waking up de whole village. But here is de real shocker—de app ain’t crash yet. Not even a lil hiccup. Not even a “please try again later.” Dem boys seh, after de whole cash grant app saga, dem expect dis one fuh faint same time it launch.
Remember how dat one behave? You click once, yuh get pass de first set of information. Click twice—dem ask you for your photograph. When you upload it, de app seh it ain’t recognize yuh. Click three times—and suddenly you applying fuh cash grant in Suriname. Dem boys seh, dat app used to stress people so bad, even de error message used to look tired.
So imagine dem surprise when dis complaint app just… working.
Dem boys seh, dem even log in just fuh test it. Press a button, submit a complaint, and boom—it gone through. No spinning wheel ah doom. No mysterious logout. One ah dem boys whisper, “Wait nah… maybe de app supposed to complain back at we?” Because based on Guyanese standards, even de complaint system shoulda get problem.
And leh we talk truth—Guyanese love fuh complain. Is almost a national sport. If complaining was an Olympic event, dem boys seh we woulda bring home gold, silver, and argue fuh bronze too. So with all dem daily critics, keyboard warriors, and professional grumblers, dem boys really thought de system woulda buckle under pressure.
But government saying everything running smooth. Efficient. Responsive.
Dem boys seh, now dat is de real mystery.
Anyway, dem boys waiting patiently fuh de next big innovation—the Corruption Complaint App. Word on de street is dat one having lil teething issues. Dem boys seh, apparently, every time you try submit something, it does “disappear.”
Now that… sound more like de system we used to.
Talk half. Leff half.
