Elderly man’s decomposing body found in Angoy’s Avenue home
(Kaieteur News) – The decomposing body of a pensioner was discovered at his residence in Angoy’s Avenue New Amsterdam, Berbice on Saturday.
According to reports, the man had been occupying the lower flat of the two-storey wooden and concrete property for some months by himself.
On Saturday, several neighbours said they observed a strong stench within proximity of the man’s home.
The Angoy’s Avenue, New Amsterdam home where the pensioner was discovered dead on Saturday.
One of his neighbors told this publication that the foul odor caused her to enter the dead man’s home to check on him. It was there she made the gruesome discovery of the pensioner bloated and in an advanced state of decomposition.
“We din smelling the thing, and I peep by the door and I see he. Couple days we ain’t see he. Yesterday we start smell. He din swell up and so when they bringing he out,” she disclosed.
It is believed that the man was suffering from an unknown illness.
She said residence immediately called an ambulance and the police in New Amsterdam. Just after midday on Saturday, the man’s remains were removed from the location and taken to Bailey’s Funeral Parlor.
Much details about the dead man are uncertain. According to individuals acquainted with him, he was said to have been in his 70s, and operated a push cart at the New Amsterdam Market.
