(Kaieteur News) – The Origins: Guyana Fashion Festival 2026 will be held during the period July 3 to 5 under the theme, “A Diamond Legacy: Fashioning 60 Years.”

A key feature of the launch was the announcement of five new official awards including Best Male Model.
Launched at the Railway Courtyard last April 10, the theme pays tribute to Guyana’s cultural journey, reflecting six decades of national development while highlighting the country’s growing presence in modern and international creative spaces.
A key feature of the launch was the announcement of five new official awards, each designed to recognise excellence within the local fashion industry. The categories include Best Fashion Designer, Best Emerging Designer, Outstanding Storyteller/Innovator, Best Female Model, and Best Male Model. The awards will also come with cash prizes, further incentivising creativity and professional growth.
In launching the event, Minister of Tourism, Industry and Commerce Susan Rodrigues told a group of enthusiastic designers, creatives, industry stakeholders, and fashion lovers that the festival is a symbol of growth, evolution, and national creative ambition, emphasizing that this year’s staging goes beyond entertainment and enters the realm of national expression.
Rodrigues also highlighted the Government’s vision of transforming Origins from a once-a-year event into a sustained, year-round platform for creative development. She noted that the initiative aligns with other efforts to strengthen the country’s creative industries and expand opportunities for local talent.
