Exciting Guinness Action! The Cultural Centre tarmac came alive on Friday as teams fight for spots into Guinness ‘Greatest of the Streets’ round of 16’s.
Kaieteur Sports – Eight more teams punched their tickets to the Round of 16 in the Guinness ‘Greatest of the Streets’ Georgetown Championship, following an electrifying night of street football action on Friday at the National Cultural Centre Tarmac.
Building on the momentum from Wednesday’s opening fixtures, Bent Street, Team Cruel, Laing Avenue, Z-Tekk, Albouystown, North East La Penitence, Leopold, and National All Stars advanced, keeping their title ambitions alive as the knockout phase intensifies.
Bent Street set the tone in the opening encounter with a commanding 3-0 win over United Ballers. Displaying a well-organised backline and sharp transitions, Bent Street controlled possession and dictated the tempo throughout. Their defensive unit remained compact, shutting down attacking threats before capitalising at the other end to seal a comfortable victory.
Team Cruel followed with an emphatic 4-1 triumph over Corinthians, delivering one of the standout performances of the evening. Known for their attacking prowess, Team Cruel overwhelmed their opponents with quick passing, clinical finishing, and relentless pressure in the final third, leaving the usually competitive Corinthians side chasing shadows.

Guinness ‘Greatest of the Streets’ Georgetown leg continues Thursday, April 23, at the National Cultural Centre tarmac.
Laing Avenue and Z-Tekk both navigated tense, low-scoring affairs to secure their progression. Laing Avenue edged Gaza Squad 1-0 in a tightly contested matchup, showing discipline and composure to protect their slender lead. Similarly, Z-Tekk pulled off a narrow 1-0 victory against North Ruimveldt, grinding out the result with a resolute defensive display and timely finishing.
Albouystown advanced with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Young Stars in Game Five. After taking the lead, Albouystown managed the game effectively, resisting late pressure as Young Stars pushed forward in search of an equaliser but failed to find the breakthrough.
North East La Penitence also progressed by the finest of margins, securing a 1-0 win over K-Town All Stars. In a cagey contest with limited clear-cut chances, a single decisive strike proved enough to separate the sides.
The final two fixtures of the evening delivered more drama. Leopold emerged victorious in a tense one-goal thriller against Kingston, showcasing resilience in a closely fought battle. Meanwhile, National All Stars produced a composed and controlled performance to defeat Team Madrid 2-0, combining defensive solidity with efficient attacking play to comfortably see out the contest.
With the Round of 16 lineup now taking shape, the competition continues to heat up as teams gear up for the next stage, where a place in the quarterfinals will be on the line.
The tournament is powered by Guinness, Guyana’s leading stout, with support from Colours Boutique. Action is set to continue at the National Cultural Centre, promising more high-intensity clashes and street football excitement.
