Coach Mills and The Siskin Inc team enjoying a few pleasantries during last Sunday’s Football outreach at the Plaisance ground.
Kaieteur Sports – The Vurlon Mills Football Academy Inc. (VMFA), in collaboration with The Siskin Group Inc., on Sunday hosted an interactive community football outreach at the Plaisance Community Ground.

Aspiring footballers seize the opportunity, participating in drill works at the recent VMFA-Siskin Inc. outreach programme at Plaisance.
VMFA, widely regarded as one of Guyana’s premier youth football academies, is led by former national footballer Vurlon Mills. The academy caters to boys and girls between the ages of 4 and 16, with a strong focus on holistic development.
Its programme emphasizes discipline, leadership, inclusivity, and life-skills training, while also creating avenues for young athletes to access higher-level opportunities both within and beyond football.
Meanwhile, The Siskin Group Inc. continues to establish itself as a dynamic local firm, offering services in customer support, operational management, data research and analysis, and strategic systems development aimed at improving business performance and fostering sustainable growth. The company has also demonstrated a growing commitment to community engagement, particularly in youth development and the expansion of access to sporting initiatives.

Scenes from last Sunday …VMFA and The Siskin Inc. launch exciting and interactive Football Outreach. The initiative now heads to Mocha Community, Sunday, April 19.
The outreach formed part of VMFA’s initial programme rollout, with Mills and members of The Siskin team travelling to the Plaisance community to engage young, aspiring sportsmen and women. The initiative sought to provide a structured and positive environment through football, while reinforcing values such as teamwork, discipline, and personal growth.
Over the course of the one-day activity, more than 80 youths participated in a series of football drills, mini-matches, and interactive games, complemented by informal life-skills discussions. Mills noted that the initiative created a safe space for learning, recreation, and meaningful engagement, including one-on-one interaction between mentors and participants.
He underscored that the academy’s vision extends beyond one-off engagements, highlighting plans to establish consistent programmes across multiple communities, particularly targeting youths who may not have access to formal football training.
As part of its continued expansion, VMFA has identified Mocha Primary School Ground as the venue for its next outreach, scheduled for Sunday, April 19, from 10:00 hrs. The upcoming activity forms part of the academy’s broader effort to widen its reach and deepen its impact across communities.
