Kaieteur Sports – Edison Chouest Offshore and G-Boats Inc have reaffirmed their commitment to youth development in Guyana by renewing their sponsorship of Youth Basketball Guyana (YBG) tournaments. The announcement was made during a simple presentation ceremony at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.
The renewed partnership marks seven consecutive years of support, providing young student-athletes with opportunities to develop their basketball skills while pursuing their academic journey.

G-Boat Inc., and Edison Chouest Offshore renew sponsorship for seventh consecutive year, supporting YBG’s Basketball programmes.
The ceremony was attended by members of the YBG Academy, parents and invited guests, including Ross Chouest, a representative of Edison Chouest Offshore and G-Boats Inc. Mr. Chouest interacted with the young athletes and observed a brief exhibition game held in his honour.
A native of Galliano, Louisiana, Chouest brings a personal connection to the sport. He was a standout high school player at South Lafourche High School before continuing his basketball career at the collegiate level, including stints at Louisiana State University (LSU) and Georgia Tech. His background, organisers noted, gives him a unique appreciation for youth development through sport.
During the sponsorship meeting, Chouest noted that: the partnership with YBG resonated deeply with him, recalling his own basketball journey and family ties to the game. He underscored the importance of basketball in instilling discipline, teamwork and positive values in young people.

“We are deeply grateful for the support of Edison Chouest Offshore and G-Boats Inc.,” Bowman said. “This partnership has been pivotal in allowing YBG to sustain and expand our programmes across regions and to uplift young athletes through a year-round developmental structure.”
Edison Chouest Offshore and G-Boats Inc continue to support YBG programmes throughout the year, with a strong focus on regional expansion and creating positive, structured and purposeful basketball opportunities for young people across Guyana.
