(Kaieteur News) – The six suspects arrested on Tuesday at Three Miles, Wisroc, Linden, where burnt materials were discovered, have admitted to burning the body of Jamal ‘Skinny’ Bourne.
Police confirmed that the suspects admitted to burning the Bourne’s body after he shot himself in the head during a live stream last Sunday. The suspects reportedly told investigators that they burnt the man’s body because they were afraid to go to the police to report what transpired.
The six suspects are expected to appear in court on Monday to answer charges related to failing to report an unnatural death. Further, one of the six suspects will also face charges in relation to possession of a firearm and ammunition without being licensed.
Meanwhile, on Sunday, a video recording of Bourne shooting himself while on a live broadcast went viral on social media. Bourne was wanted in connection with the murder of Akeem Hamer at Pouderoyen, West Bank Demerara which occurred on September 12, 2024.
Kaieteur News also obtained a short video clip capturing the moments after the live social media broadcast by Bourne abruptly ended. In the nine-second video, a man believed to be Bourne is seen lying on the ground with what appears to be blood on his face. The camera then pans to a chair where the individual reportedly sat earlier, showing what also appears to be blood on the covering. A male was heard responding to a female who was crying saying, “No leff duh, leff duh I gun deal with duh.”
Police reported that, “During the broadcast, Bourne was also observed in the company of other individuals while allegedly displaying a cadre of suspected firearms. The video has since been removed from the page on which it was originally posted.”
On Wednesday, sources were able to confirm that there were what appeared to be burnt remains of a male, in the area where the burnt material was discovered and it is suspected to be that of Bourne.
