(Kaieteur News) – A 21-year-old construction worker lost his life on Thursday morning following a motorcycle accident along Coldingen Public Road, East Coast Demerara, marking the first road fatality for the new year.
The deceased has been identified as Brandon Thomas of Melanie Damishana ECD.
The incident occurred around 07:00hrs.
According to police reports, Thomas was riding motorcycle CN 8252 east along the northern lane on the Coldigen public road. He subsequently lost control of the motorcycle and fell onto the roadway and sustained injuries to his body. He was rushed by public-spirited citizens to the Enmore Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival,” police said.
His body is currently at the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, awaiting a post-mortem examination.
Police stated that CCTV footage from the area has been secured and will be reviewed.
Investigations are ongoing.
