(Kaieteur News) – A 24-year-old woman has been arrested as police deepen their investigation into the execution of a young businessman, Amar Jones in Linden on Tuesday. Kaieteur News understand that the woman is the ex-girlfriend of Jones.
Police in a statement said that the murder occurred about 15:00hrs at Half Mile Public Road, Wismar, Linden, resulting in the death of Jones aged 27.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the deceased was travelling in a motor canter along Half Mile Public Road when he was approached by a motor car from which an unidentified male exited and discharged several rounds in his direction before re-entering the vehicle and fleeing the scene.
Upon arrival at the scene, police ranks observed the victim motionless in the driver’s seat of the motor canter. He was escorted to the Linden Hospital Complex where he was pronounced dead on arrival by a doctor on duty. The body was later taken to G-Jetsco Funeral Home awaiting a post-mortem examination.
