(Kaieteur News) – The Guyana Police Force (GPF) is investigating the death of an elderly man of mixed-race whose body was discovered on Monday in the vicinity of the Bourda Market.
Reports are that the man’s motionless body, clad in a grey top and blue short pants, was found at around 08:00h on the western side of the Bourda Market. No marks of violence were observed on the body.
“The deceased is a male of mixed ancestry, believed to be about 60 years old and of no fixed place of abode. Initial investigations revealed that he was known to frequent and sleep within the Bourda Market area. On the morning in question, ranks responded after receiving information that the man was seen lying motionless at the location,” police said.
Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) were summoned and upon arrival, the man was pronounced dead. The body was taken to the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, where it awaits a post-mortem examination.
