Berbice River Cricket Association T20 four teams Round Robin cricket competition
Kaieteur Sports – Sand Hills defeated Geatroy by nine wickets in their game of the Berbice River Cricket Association T20 four-team Round Robin competition. Batting first, Geatroy were dismissed for 88 in 14.3 overs with Phillip Grimmond 23, Tallie 13 and Leton Grimmond 12 reaching double figures.
Joshua Leacock did the damage bowling for Wiruni as he took four wickets, while there were two apiece for Daniel Leacock and Wacker Mackenzie.
Friendship in their turn at the crease raced to 91-1 in 7.2 overs. Ronald Singh 35, Michael Capel 26 not out and Daniel Leacock 21 led the batting.
Philip Grimmond took the lone wicket bowling for Geatroy.
In the next game between Wiruni Conquerors and Kimbia, Wiruni Conquerors conquered Kimbia by five wickets.
Kimbia took first strike and were bowled out for 105 in 15 overs with Mark Sampson 32, Sheldon Bovell 19 and Nelon Thomas 18. Extras were a healthy 20.
Bowling for Wiruni Conquerors there were four wickets for Linford Peters, Keron Kertious three, while there was one apiece for Martin Agard, Ralph Fleming and Lauren Gilliard.
Wiruni Conquerors in reply reached 108 for 5 in 17 overs to win by five wickets. Getting among the runs were Deon De Silva 42, Ralph Fleming 28 and Martin Agard 19 with extras being 14.
Taking wickets for Friendship Cavaliers were Delroy Osborne with three wickets, Melroy Da Silva with 2 and Nelon Thomas one.
The final is expected to be played on Sunday between Wiruni Conquerors and Friendship Cavaliers at Sand Hills.
Vying for third place will be Gaetroy (Fort Nassau) and Kimbia. (Samuel Whyte)
