Racing Cycle worth $2.1M presented to up-and-coming cyclist

Kaieteur Sports – The love of a father has no bounds and former National cycling champion Franco Crawford is exhibiting that adage to the fullest.
The Overseas based former national cyclist, Crawford, who is now a re-migrant, counties to assist his fellow Guyanese in many ways. This time he decided to show the love to his own son in a big way.
Franco Crawford Senior hands over the $2.1M racing bike to his son Franco Crawford Junior in the presence of Coach Randolph Roberts.
Crawford stated that his 10 years old son Franco Jr, like him and many family members before, likes cycling. He stated that his son was born in England and resides permanently in Guyana. He attends the All Saints Primary School and is presently the BMX champion in the country. He has never lost a race in his career so far in Guyana and overseas. According to the senior Crawford, his son would like to go all the way to the top and represent Guyana at the senior level overseas.
After discussion with his Coach Randolph Roberts, arrangements were made with the manufacturers in England to custom make the cycle for his son. It took a few months. But when it was done his son was happy.
The bike, a CERVELO made, is similar to what he rides. It is fitted with Cleats for riding shoes.
Crawford Senior, now a businessman, started his cycling career as a member of the Flying Ace Cycle Club (FACC). He is still a member. His son has also joined. Crawford, whilst overseas, would return on a regular basis and show his benevolence.
Crawford Junior was very thankful and full of praise for his father. He thanked both his father and Roberts and promised to do his best
The senior Crawford had churned out a name for himself in Guyana as a top cyclist before migrating to England where he continued to ply his trade in the European and the North American circuits.
Roberts expressed thanks to Crawford for investing in his son and always remembering the club.
