Essequibo woman remanded for attempted murder of colleague
(Kaieteur News) – A twenty-eight-year-old woman was on Friday remanded to prison for the attempted murder of her male colleague. Remanded to prison is Cinzla Edwards, a part-time worker of Mainstay Lake, Essequibo Coast, Region Two.

She was charged with an attempt to commit murder, Contrary to Section 103 (c) of the criminal Law (Offences) Act, chapter 8:01, committed on 30-year-old Ian Heartman, a construction worker of Mainstay Lake. Police did not disclose the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Edwards appeared at the Anna Regina Magistrates’ Court before Magistrate Ravindra Mohabir. She was not required to plead to the charge. The prosecutor objected to bail and Edwards was remanded to prison. The matter was adjourned to October 30, 2025.
